Last Friday we kicked off Easter Break at Kids Care with Easter eggs! We painted paper eggs with watercolors and then we colored little chicks to be hatching from them! They turned out really neat!! Check them out below!
For the month of February, our "question of the day" will become "wuzzle of the day"! A wuzzle is a word puzzle that represents a common word or phrase, for example, POL4ICY, would stand for "foreign policy." Ask your student about some of the wuzzles we've done so far! This morning we continued making tissue paper flowers in the spirit of Valentine's Day next week! We hung some of them on the Christmas lights around our Kids Care doors, they look great! Many students decided also to take them home, hopefully they will brighten up your house! We also enjoyed a great game of relays this morning in the cafeteria. We split into two teams (Boys versus Girls) and students took turns walking like elephants, crawling like crabs, and balancing tootsie rolls on their foreheads! It was really close, but the boys were the victors! This morning, in celebration of Catholic Schools Week, we had our own Kids Care Trivia Game Show! We divided into three teams (Green, Blue and Red), each team was given a white board and captains were chosen. Teams took turns rolling a die to determine which category they would answer a question from: Catholic Trivia, Sports Trivia, and Movies and Television Trivia. Students then quickly discussed answers and captains wrote out the answers on the white boards, before holding them up when time was up. It was a close game but the Green team pulled out a win! Ask your student what they thought was the toughest question! For Catholic Schools Week, we decided to do a group banner to hang in the cafeteria. The kids came up with a design, we sketched it out on a large piece of white bulletin board paper, and then everyone helped paint in all the letters. Other kids painted hearts with red paint on which we wrote the names of all the great IHM activities including sports, clubs, and of course Kids Care! Then we hung it above the serving window of the kitchen. Take a look! |
